About the event
Considered a landmark play for raising awareness about women's bodies and issues related to female sexuality, The Obie Award-winning The Vagina Monologues was written by V (formerly known as Eve Ensler). It is based on over 200 interviews with a diverse range of women sharing personal stories and has been performed in high schools, colleges, and community centers in 140 countries and 48 languages.
The play has been described as “outlandishly hilarious and devastatingly beautiful, tapping into the deep well of human emotions.”
Directed by high school student Omi Degracia Beadling, this performance continues the tradition with an all new cast of 6 students and 5 women from the community. Educational materials and natural products to support women's health and wellness will be on display before and after the performance.
