Capital Strings Concert

Capital Strings is an advanced student chamber ensemble based at Pineland Suzuki School. Directed by Anne McKee, the group consists of approximately twelve string players, ages 11 to 19, from across central Maine. A unique aspect of Capital Strings is that they perform almost exclusively without a conductor, with students leading one another to create exceptional performances. Individually, Capital Strings members musically enrich their communities through local orchestras, choruses, bands, and contradances. Many have earned prestigious honors, including positions in the All-State Orchestra and All-Eastern National Orchestra, as well as awards from the Bay Chamber Young Stars of Maine and the Bangor Symphony Concerto competition.
